Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex
Harrisburg, PA

In January 2008, Jack Hulme Design began work with Converse Winkler Architects on the renovation of the PA Farm Show Complex. The 25-acre, 1 million square foot complex houses the largest indoor agricultural event in the US. The wayfinding scope of services includes analysis and design of directional, landmark, code, and map signage, and design of over 30 agricultural icons to aid in wayfinding. Mitchell Physics Buildings
Texas A&M University
College Station, TX

Working with Michael Graves & Associates, Jack Hulme Design has created a wayfinding and signage program for a new interdisciplinary life sciences building. The project began with a wayfinding analysis of the 157,000 square foot building. A palette of glass, brushed stainless steel, and muted-colored signs will highlight the building’s modern architecture. Construction will be completed in late 2009. Kirkwood Public Library and EMS Station
New Castle, DE

In an ongoing partnership with Ikon.5 Architects, Jack Hulme Design recently created an interior and exterior wayfinding program for a new 20,000 square foot library and 25,000 square foot Emergency Medical Service Station. To complement the building’s dramatic forms, signs utilize resin lightboxes, red lettering, and stainless steel accents suspended on wire cables. The library will reopen in summer 2009. Harriet Wetherill Park
Plymouth Township, PA

The Wetherill family estate and working farm was established as a legacy of John Wetherill, a native grasses expert. The 52-acre park highlights environmental and agricultural conditions in Montgomery County. Jack Hulme Design developed interpretive signage featuring various grass profiles, with family-friendly flip-chart text and images. Park maps, donor recognition, and other signage is part of the project scheduled for completion in 2011. The studio worked in tandem with landscape architects YSM. Crispus Attucks Early Learning Center
York, PA

Named for a Boston Massacre revolutionary and former slave, the Crispus Attucks Early Learning Center will provide child care and educational services to children ranging from 3 months to 12 years old. Funded by a Kresge Foundation Challenge grant and Governor Rendell’s early childhood initiatives, the center is a project of the Crispus Attucks Association. Schematic design is underway this spring, with groundbreaking anticipated in early spring 2009. Jack Hulme Design is providing pro bono wayfinding, signage, and donor recognition design.
